Zodrow Engineering GmbH
Dear visitor
We are happy to welcome you to our website. By visiting our domain, you have reached the longest-standing manufacturer of nonwoven rolls in Europe.
Even though this type of nonwoven roll was not patented before 1974, the founder of our company was already exploring its technology and application possibilities in the 1960s. We can rightly say that there is no other company in Europe with more than 40 years of experience in the use, design and manufacturing of nonwoven rolls, which carry the NONTEX® quality seal.
Whether in the cold rolling, automotive or aluminium industry - more than 20 different materials are available for all areas of application. No other manufacturer in Europe offers such a wide variety of materials for individual solutions.

NONTEX® Rolls
The nonwoven rolls, which had been developed by Toho Yogyo Co Ltd, were patented in 1974 by Bernhard Zodrow, the founder of our company. Since then, Zodrow Engineering GmbH has been selling these nonwoven rolls and their further developed variants under the brand name NONTEX®.
With a range of more than twenty different types of nonwoven materials, we can offer the right surface for a wide range of applications - whether it is cold rolling mills, the automotive industry, or the conveying and glass industry. Our nonwoven rolls can therefore also be used in the most common substances: water, oil, emulsions or acids.
The advantages of NONTEX® rolls
The use of the latest materials in the sector of nonwoven fabrics makes our rolls unique. In contrast to conventional rubber or PU rolls, the use of a NONTEX® roll does not damage the surface or leave marks on the material.
Also, the considerably higher friction coefficient for both wet and dry applications in combination with a greater shear strength make the rolls the best choice compared to rubber or PU rolls.
Last but not least, NONTEX® rolls have a 3 to 4 times longer life cycle than conventional rubber or PU rolls.
Plastics
Besides our rolls product range, our company also offers a wide range of special plastics.
ZE–EP–10
For many years, designers and engineers in all branches of industry have been using nylon in a wide variety of applications, often in bearings. One compromise solution is an MoS2-filled grade, which offers only a marginal advantage compared to the normal unfilled grades.
What is ZE-EP-10?
ZE-EP-10 is a cast nylon with liquid oil, which is added during the initial stage of manufacturing, and which becomes an integral part of the material’s structure. ZE-EP-10 is self-lubricating, but the oil will not cause abrasion, dry or drain out, even under very demanding conditions. In fact, the oil is integrated to such an extent that it allows tubing to be spun cast even when the material is still in liquid form, while retaining the same self-lubricating quality on inside and outside diameters.
What are the advantages of ZE-EP-10?
ZE-EP-10 has all the essential mechanical characteristics associated with more conventional cast nylons when used as a bearing material, but has exceptional wear and frictional properties with at least half the moisture absorption rate.
ZE-EP-10 shows up to 5 times less wear and approximately 25% less friction. The higher the load and the greater the bearing surface, the more beneficial ZE-EP-10 becomes.
What about problems with moisture?
With a moisture uptake of 1%, ZE-EP-10 reduces the problems at least by half. Moisture uptake never exceed 1%. With relative humidity or moisture conditioning, which introduces an artificial equivalent to the average atmospheric humidity, this figure would be reduced even further.
ZE-EP-10 does not absorb or exude moisture easily. Combined with the added oil, this offers exceptional protection to mating bearing surfaces. It is excellent in high humidity environments and in direct contact with highly abrasive slurries or in marine applications.
What about heat build-up?
Heat build-up is dependent on friction, and ZE-EP-10 has up to 25% less friction than unlubricated nylon bearings, enabling it to withstand higher loads and operating speeds without an increase in temperature.
ZE-EP-10 S
ZE-EP-10 S is a logical progression to ZE-EP-10. The main difference between both materials is the reduction of the friction coefficient from 0.14 to 0.08. This material is the right choice for clients who need their application to work very smoothly.
